Technology suppliers and supply chains

Find organisations in Britain's innovation supply chainsCapability first. Geography is a fact, not a ranking.

Suppliers, manufacturers and engineering organisations recorded from their own published material, grouped by capability family rather than by county.

You do not need to sit beside a manufacturer to use one. The useful question is whether the right capability can be found, assessed and reached, so UKIZ records capability nationally and treats place as one attribute of the record.

216 verified records from 80 organisations across 88 places. Most recent check 2026-08-25.

What this page is

A record here means the organisation exists and published something UKIZ can point at. It is not evidence that it makes a particular part, has capacity, holds an approval, will quote or accepts external work. Ask the organisation before you plan around it.

UKIZ is a discovery service. It does not vet suppliers, run procurement, take referral fees or endorse anyone on this page.

  • Contract manufacturing5
  • Software, compute and connectivity4

A record joins a group only where its own published wording names that activity.

How to use it

  1. Capability families, only where the source says so

Components and materials, design and engineering, prototyping and tooling, testing and certification, specialist equipment, pilot production, contract manufacturing, plus software, compute and connectivity. A record joins a family when its own published wording names that activity. Sector registration alone is never enough.

  2. Access, not proximity

Manufacturing, testing and analysis are bought across the country every day. Distance matters when logistics, lead times or repeated visits genuinely constrain a project, and UKIZ only weighs geography when a requirement states that constraint.

  3. Describe what you actually need

A Need is the fastest route to a shortlist. Describe the capability, the volumes and the constraints, and UKIZ matches it against evidenced capability rather than against who paid for attention.

  4. If a record is wrong

Organisations can claim their entry and correct it. UKIZ keeps the original source and the correction together so a reader can see what changed.

Common questions

  1. Does UKIZ recommend or approve suppliers?

No. UKIZ records what organisations publish and links to the source. There are no rankings, no reviews and no paid placement.

  2. Do I need a supplier near me?

Usually not. Proximity helps where a project depends on repeated visits, shared equipment or tight logistics. Otherwise the right capability anywhere in the country is the better answer.

  3. Can I find out prices or lead times here?

No. Capacity, price, availability and delivery performance are matters for the organisation itself, and UKIZ will not imply them.
