Privacy and data
What UKIZ holds, and what it does not.
UKIZ maps Britain’s innovation economy from public and contributed information: organisations, research centres, facilities, jobs, events, funding opportunities and the evidence behind them. Most of what you see on UKIZ is organisational information, not personal information.
If you join UKIZ, we hold the account details you give us and the profile you choose to publish. You can edit or remove your profile at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account by writing to hello@ukiz.co.uk.
How UKIZ uses AI
AI helps you navigate UKIZ. It does not make the facts up.
Ask UKIZ uses an AI model to understand what you are asking, ask sensible follow-up questions and write the connecting sentences. The facts come from UKIZ records: organisations, jobs, events, opportunities, facilities, research and the evidence attached to them. Where UKIZ holds nothing, it says so rather than filling the gap.
AI can still summarise badly or miss context. Important decisions should be checked against the linked records and the original sources, which UKIZ shows alongside its intelligence.
Your conversation stays in your browser for the session. It is sent to the model only so it can keep track of what you have already said. We do not use conversations to build a profile of you, we do not sell them, and we do not carry them between visits.
Analytics
We measure behaviour, not people.
UKIZ records aggregate product analytics so we can see which kinds of question people ask, whether UKIZ could answer them, which records get opened and where UKIZ falls short. We store the shape of the request, not what you wrote: the intent family, whether evidence was found, which Zone or dataset was involved and whether a link was opened.
We do not store the text of conversations for analytics, and we do not store proprietary or commercially sensitive detail you may mention. Where UKIZ repeatedly cannot answer a topic, that gap is logged as a research task so the data improves.
UKIZ uses only the cookies and browser storage needed to sign you in and to keep your current conversation in the tab you are using. There is no advertising tracking on UKIZ.
